Oncologists are often broken down by specialty relating to their forms of treatment or the type of cancer they treat. Some of the specialties include gynecologic oncology, pediatric oncology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, and surgical oncology. For patients who are suffering from incurable cancer, oncology can still offer the benefit of reduced symptoms and side effects, as well as psychological and emotional support, help finding social services, and more. This is referred to as palliative care.

You could have picked up a virus in the hospital. It sounds more like a reaction to a new medicine they may have put you on. Blood pressure pills ACEIs & ARBs can cause a persistant dry cough. I was given Zestril once and I coughed at night when I laid down to sleep. Those ending with a 'pril' are Ace Inhibitors. Those ending with 'artan' are the ARBs. I don't know what ARB means. There are many of each medicine - so if one of our pills ens with ensin or pril - that is an ACE. Ending with artan = ARBs. They both cause a cough. Hope this helps. jollyweez

I have been through exactly the same thing in the last few months... My personal hate is the probe they ram up your bottom filled with dye!
Currently, however, I am fighting my body as I have just had the reversal.
I found that the Stoma nurses were great when I had a similar problem, and a company called fittleworth. if you aren't using them ask at the hospital or check them out on the net. They supplied me with all the gubbins, but best of all, they will send you samples of different types of bags to try if you wish.
I hope this is of some use, if not, ignore it!

Peter, as somebody who has been through a coronary heart bypass, and prostate cancer, I can understand some of the stress and anguish you must be going through at the moment.

All you need at this time is a cantankerous Doctor!
